The new shotgun in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 appears to be incredibly powerful, as one video shows that it can destroy VTOL Jets. Like other games in the Call of Duty series, Modern Warfare 2 players earn killstreaks upon getting a certain number of kills in a row without dying.
These are then divided into groups based on how useful they are in a match, with the best killstreaks requiring fans to get a high number of kills without dying. There are many useful killstreaks in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, with VTOL Jets being a fairly popular choice. However, it looks like the newest shotgun added to the game is a bit overpowered, as a clip shows it shooting down VTOL Jets out of the sky.
A Reddit user named NitrokiddXxX has shared a short video featuring highlights from their match of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on Shipment. The almost 40-second clip shows NitrokiddXxX destroying multiple VTOLs with the newly introduced KV Broadside shotgun. It’s not clear how much damage these VTOLs took outside the player’s shots, but it does seem like the shotgun deals a ton of damage to the killstreak, enough to destroy them without too much trouble.
Fans should note the KV Broadside shotgun was nerfed as a part of the Season 2 Reloaded update for Modern Warfare 2, so this footage appears to be taken before the patch went live. Still, it’s a great example of why KV Broadside was considered to be overpowered, providing justification for the nerfs it received in Season 2 Reloaded.
Many users in the comments section have a discussion on the gameplay being unrealistic, with users debating if games need realism to be fun. Some users also make note of the player using explosive slug rounds for bonus damage against vehicles, with one gamer wondering how NitrokiddXxX managed to survive long enough to destroy the VTOLs without getting interrupted due to the chaotic nature of Shipment in Modern Warfare 2.
The KV Broadside shotgun was added in Season 2 of Modern Warfare 2, which also came with new maps and modes alongside other improvements. However, both of the maps from Season 2 were not exactly new, with Valderas Museum featured in Modern Warfare 2’s beta and Dome being a remake of an older map. This resulted in the Himmelmatt Expo map being the first brand-new map added to Modern Warfare 2 since its release.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
