Recently, while working on my new site, I wrote an article about Personal HealthCare Records or PHR's and PassportMD which is an Interactive Health Care Records Program. While reading through the material I thought you might find it interesting. It is worth looking into if you manage the health care in your family.
Alternatively, if you plan to go to heaven anytime soon like Mom did and not leave any directions on what the heck we were supposed to know about Dad, you might need it. Anyway, Personal Health Record Management – PassportMD. keeps track of up to six family members and looks like it would be beneficial if you have sick people or are involved in elder care in any way shape or form.
The program gives you access to Harvard Health Letter and Harvard Mental Health Letter and enable you to perform health searches on the web and only return relevant trusted information from reputable established medical sites.
The program will store all of your meds, diagnostic tests, medicines(previous and past) ongoing or recovered illnesses, family history, blood type almost anything you need to share with your physician. They even have a service that will place automatic calls to the family member to remind them of Dr. Appointments and to take their medicine. A friend of mine recently said he needed one to call and tell his Mother that "Today is not Sunday" because she thinks everyday is and gets dressed for church. I wonder if you could even get it to call and say "Please remove the Mayonnaise from the Freezer" ? Oh well, I digress. You can read all about it at the other web site maybe it is something we should think about. Or you can go directly to the Passport MD web site and read about it there. Just passing it along.
