 Well the latest rage is Facebook I guess. Fran got me signed up. I haven't heard from her in a week now. So much for keeping in touch better. Ha. The thing about all of these media things, it reminds me of the the "Everybody Loves Raymond" Episode where Ray gives his parents a Fruit subscription for a present. Christmas I think. "Fruit of the month club". Facebook, myspace and Youtube are kind of like that. It never stops!
With Face book you have a Wall people can write on, then you have email, you are notified when anyone else sneezes or changes their profile, if they meet friends, they add pictures, they are new and you might know them, Well just like Marie said. ““What are we going to do with all this fruit? Who could eat all of this fruit?” oh! Gosh!! It just keeps coming and coming!
So what do to with the fruit? I am going to use it to update the paper. I know that most of you don't have Facebook but the younger kids do, and what's more they use it. So I will just pick up a few non personal tidbits from there and keep the family informed from time to time. No last names so it should be safe. You can join facebook and view all of this for yourselves. Go ahead! Jump in!
What have I learned on Facebook? More people know me than I know them. There are people I guess I am supposed to know but I am afraid to ask and I feel kinda like a "peeping tom" sometimes. I never knew people put so much of their stuff on line. Except me of course.
Okay here Goes.....
Samantha (James' friend) is doing well at Mercer...She spilled air freshener all over her bible and that made her mad. She traveled with the volleyball team and took lots of nice pictures of girls acting silly, in a pool and has pictures of James and her fishing. She is a nice girl and I like her a lot. Very unique sense of humor.
James Lewis my son is doing well in his shcool but it is hard. He wants to come home for Christmas but can only get as far as New Orleans. He wants us to zip over and pick him up at the airport. I helped him find tickets using facebook and told him about Priceline.com. He says things are pretty demanding. He changed his profile recently and now has a picture of him in battle fatigues. I miss him and will be glad to see him Christmas. He also wants me to send a bunch of stuff to him which I have not done yet, but his Mom is home now and that's what Mom's are for, this is my busy time of the year.
Jennifer my daughter is sick again. Her and her whole family. Sick. They were going to the Lewis reunion but she reports on face book that she forgot and has not been feeling good. I went to the reunion in Marianna Florida and she would have enjoyed it.
Glenda my eldest I learned she still does not know what flavor of grandchild I will have. That she had the blues on Monday past. That she dreamed it was a girl so she will see if she is psychic. That she still had the Monday blahs on Tuesday, and that she commented on James' picture, talked to Jennifer, and has lots of friends that I have no earthly Idea who are. I also made "Friends" with Brian my son-in-law. Who has a family I have never met but you can see their photos on facebook. Nice looking family. I see Glenda is now friends with Kimberly and she asked James "So are you going to FL sometime soon? Just wondering from Dad's wall. How is life in CA? I hope you are doing well. Tell me some good stories. I am anxious to hear what's happening."
Joe DOES NOT FACEBOOK. I don't know why. So that's my family. Mary does not face book either she can't get past the sign in without getting frustrated. Today I had 15 messages from facebook. 3 notifications Hmmmmm. The Fruit!!!
Fran like I said earlier, hasn't written called or emailed since face book, but....she has written on "face book" she is friends with Kelly, Julie, Melissa, Dara, Me, Jennifer P, Jonathan, Candice, Glenda and Chase. Fran has posted her Video of Lydia riding her bike. She is also asking a lot of questions about how to use Facebook. They are kind of like the questions I ask, you know older people questions. She has changed her profile and put links to the news paper. (she is so sweet) She has been my cousin my whole life but evidently we just became Friends last week.
Kelly is getting Married May the 30th and she has narrowed her choice of Dresses down to two I think. At least that is what I discern from her friend's Lauren's reply. Kelly is substitue teaching and she likes it. She is one the more active facebooker's. You can poke Kelly if you want to. You can also bite, chest bump or Dropkick her, all from her profile page. I didn't...sounds kinda mean to me, but it seems to be acceptable on this venue. Kelly has 309 friends! OMG how does she get anything done??? The Fruit! It just keeps Coming!!!!
